GUIDE TO UMRAH TRAVEL VACCINATIONS IN WEST MIDLANDS

Umrah Travel Vaccinations in West Midlands

Need Umrah travel vaccinations in West Midlands? Let us help you by providing all the information and details that will help you to make your journey successful.

Recommendations & Requirements

  Meningitis

If you are planning to visit Umrah or Hajj pilgrimage, then you need a health certificate that verifies that you got a vaccination against meningitis. The same applies for seasonal workers too. In short, you can’t get entry to Saudi Arabia if you are not able to fulfil your vaccination requirements. A vaccination certificate needs to be issued no less than ten days and no more than three years prior to arrival in the United States of Emirates. If you are going there specifically for holidays or you are an expat worker, then you don’t need to produce a vaccination certificate though we recommend you to check in in-depth whether your travel purpose needs the certificate as you will not be able to change these plans at the last minute. In the United Kingdom, your visa can’t be approved if you don’t have proof of vaccination. You need to show your vaccination certificates ten days prior to the date of travel.

  Tetanus and Polio

Ensure that you have been vaccinated for tetanus and polio in the last 10 years, if not you will need to arrange for a booster before you travel. When given as a booster prior to travel, the polio, diphtheria and tetanus vaccine requires only one injection. It contains active ingredients to help your body develop an immunity to all three diseases.

  Rubella & Measles

There has been a reinvigoration of rubella and measles. To remain immune you will need a vaccination which consists of getting two doses of natural measles infection or MMR.

  Influenza

The Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia specifically requests and instructs travellers to get an influenza vaccination if they are visiting for Hajj or Umrah pilgrimage. This is of specific importance if you have had a history with diabetes, heart, and chest problems.

  Malaria

The risk of malaria is quite low in cities like Mecca and Medina. However, it is still recommended to get properly vaccinated for malaria so you can avoid any possible risk. We recommend you also take anti-malarial tablets especially if you are planning to travel around and use local transportation services for example.

  Diarrhoea

Diarrhoea is one of the common things to get during travelling to Hajj or Umrah, and one of the biggest reasons for this is contaminated water and food. Hot weather also makes the condition worse. In order to prevent an occurrence of diorrhea, you should be drinking clean water, have improved sanitation and hand wash with soap. We recommend that you follow all health guidelines to help you stay healthy.

Recommended Health Guidelines by the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Health

  • You should seek medical advice if you are travelling to Saudi Arabia whilst you are pregnant, have a chronic disease or suffer from immune deficiency. You must also consult your GP should you wish to travel to Saudi Arabia and have a child under 12 that has a terminal illness.
  • Before eating you should wash your hands properly. Carrying a hand sanitizer is a good option.
